How we started.
Berke began in 2004 when co-founders Kelly Land and Martin Freedland set out to create an assessment that would accurately predict job performance. Martin had been running a successful consulting firm since 1978, and had used assessments to help companies get the most out of their people. Kelly’s prior work with start-ups and Fortune 500 companies gave him an understanding of the importance of finding the right person for the job. Dr. Bob McDonald, an organizational psychologist and author who conducted extensive research on the impact of talent and personality on people’s careers, was recruited as the VP of Science and Research. With his comprehensive software development experience, Jeff Adkisson rounded out the team in his role as Chief Technology Officer. Together, they built a brand new assessment from the ground up. More than a decade later, they are proud to say that they’ve helped thousands of customers find the right person for the job.
